Herbert "Pat" Patrick Shand

Age 62, of Dartmouth. It is with heavy hearts and profound grief that we, the family, announce Pat’s passing on September 17, 2015 in the palliative care unit of the VG. As in life, he was surrounded by his loving family at the end. Pat was the son of the late Herbert Shand and Constance Blades. He is survived by his wife and best friend Robin Pritchard, daughter Lori (Andrew), son Mitchell and granddaughter Alicia. Pat’s greatest loves were his family, friends and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed socializing with his neighbours and having a good laugh (sometimes at their expense). One of his proudest moments was watching his beloved Sox end their championship drought in 2004. Special thanks to the staff on 4B and palliative care at the VG. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Sunday, September 27th from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the North Woodside Community Centre, 230 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth. In keeping with Pat’s easy going personality, dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat’s name to the North Woodside Community Centre.
