John James MacLeod Wedsworth

John served 20 years in the military and was a veteran of the Gulf War. From an early age he was involved in Air Cadets. In his retirement John enjoyed gardening, wood working, but most of all spending time with his children as well as his neighbours, family and friends.

John is survived by his wife Maria; children, John Richard, Michael, Joseph, Elizabeth “Lizzie” and stepson, John Mitchell; sisters, Laura (Daniel) Corkum and their children Adam and Olivia of Grand Prairie, AB, Barbara (Gregory) Connell and their children Ashley and Jason of Coldbrook, NS; maternal grandmother, Alice MacLeod. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, John Angus MacLeod, of Syndey and paternal grandparents, James & Ida Wedsworth of St. Catharine’s ON.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 13th from 3-7pm in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS. Memorial service will be 10:30am Tuesday August 14th in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 216 School Street, Dartmouth. Rev. Dr. P.A. Sandy McDonald officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
