Farewell Dear Mother

Somewhere in my heart beneath all my grief and pain,
Is a smile I still wear at the sound of your dear name.
The precious word is MOTHER', she was my world you see,
But now my heart is breaking cause she's no longer here with me.
God chose her for His angel to watch me from above,
To guide me and advise me and know that I'm still loved.
The day she had to leave me when her life on earth was through,
God had better plans for her, for this, I surely knew.
When I think of her kind heart and all those loving years,
My memories surround me and I can't hold back the tears.
She truly was my best friend, someone I could confide in,
She always had a tender touch and a warm and gentle grin.
I want to thank you Mother for teaching me so well,
And though the time has come that I must bid you this farewell.
I'll remember all you've taught me and make you proud you'll see.
Thank you my Dear Mother for all the love you showed me.
Although you've left this earth and now you've taken flight,
I know that you are here with me each morning, noon and night.

Darlene, I am sorry to learn of your Mother's death now. You are at her funeral Mass as I write this note.  My sympathy and prayers for you and all Joyce's family.  I hope you find peace knowing she is at peace.

Darlene and family, after we spoke i have been thinking about Joyce ever since. When i saw her recently at the Dartmouth General she was so pleasant and she looked so well. She had a wonderful caring spirit that could be a model for others. How fortunate that she was you Mom.  I know that she will be sorely missed. Take good care. Paula Langille

Dear Darlene, and all Family Members:

I was deeply saddened when I read in Saturday's Chronicle Herald that Joyce had passed away.

I had the honour, and the pleasure of knowing Joyce for many years, When I was a Broadcaster at N.W.B.C. Radio,(14 years) and nine years at Seaside FM Radio 105.9 Eastern Passage. I will certainly miss her smiling face, her generous nature, her kind ways, and particularly her sense of humour.
Joyces' personality was outstanding. 

I always looked forward to our little talks when she'd call the station at Seaside FM every second Monday evening during my Musical Treasurers program, telling me how much she enjoyed the commentary and the music, and that I always brightened her life. Joyce was a tremendous woman in every respect.

Her loss may be overwhelming to accept at the moment, but ... I know her memory will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all relatives, because of the years of fun and laughter you all shared together as Family.

Joyce was a good friend, and someone very special to me personally, and I will miss her also. My condolences to all the family. I will be in attendance at the Service Tuesday morning.

It is with great sadness that I heard of Aunt Joyce's passing 
Although I live in Ontario and have not seen Aunt Joyce in many years ,she is in my heart and my memories. I remember her being a very caring and gentle lady ..a great Aunt

To my cousins Darlene and Jack, thinking of you and wishing you strength. Your Mom was such a good woman in every way. When she entered a room, you knew smiles and laughter would soon follow.

 When I was growing up I had the privilege of meeting/knowing most of my relatives, but not all. Some stand out and some do not.                                                                        My Aunt Joyce stands out. When I was a small kid I remember her taking care of my Uncle Donnie and 3 kids, that takes a special kind of person the person she was. Whenever my family came to visit she was always so kind. She would always call the kids dear and offer you way too much food. She was a kind hearted lady that the world will miss. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

 Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
 Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
 That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
 God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

 It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

 God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not  be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
