

Guillemette, Leonard Gaston – 72 of Cole Harbour, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family April 27, 2012 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Quebec City, he was the son of the late Lucien and Lumina (Drolet) Guillemette. Leonard was a hard working member of Local 56 for 46 years, retiring in 1992. He had a talent for renovations and always had time and a pair of hands to help family and friends. Leonard was one to speak his mind and was not shy about asking people any question that came to mind. He was a proud father and grandfather who especially enjoyed shared naptime. More recently Leonard enjoyed visiting his friends at “the office” for some social time. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Linda (Turner); sons Andre (Deborah) St. John’s, and Marc of Halifax; daughters Linda (Frank) Kenny, St. John’s and Michelle (Phil) Herritt of Cole Harbour; brothers Jean-Marie (Elizabeth), Andre (Doris), Lionel (Rose-Anne), Jacques (Guylaine) and Florent (Rolande); sisters Lilianne Gouptil, Lise (Jean-Marie) Langlais, Marthe (Andre) Laverdiere, Florence, Christiane (Michel) Blucheau; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Logan, Lauren, Deidre, Joshua. He was predeceased by a brother Claude. Visitation will take place Tuesday May 1, from 6-8 pm, with a memorial service on Wednesday May 2, 1pm, both in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland Street. Interment will take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only.
