FISHER-HALSEY, Leslie (Les) Howard - age 88, died peacefully on New Year's Eve, 2022. He was surrounded by his family at the Admiral Long Term care facility where he has lived under the care of the most gentle and kind staff. Les is survived by his loving wife Joan, of 67 years of marriage, his son Gary, daughter in-law Cathy, daughter Debbie, son-in-law Morgan, daughter in law Mary, grandchildren, Ben, Emily, Malcolm, Julian, Jason and Carol-lee. Preceded in death by his beloved daughter Linda, parents Jane and George Fisher and stepfather Tom Halsey. For over 25 years Les was a pioneer for the Cable Television Industry in Montreal where he was born and raised his family. He moved to Nova Scotia in 1983, much to the delight of his many family members that followed him and built a life here in our beloved province we now all call home. His career path moved on to becoming Coordinator for the Atlantic Canada Chamber of Commerce where he and his wife worked as a team in building memberships across the Maritimes. Later he began to work as an entrepreneur and had a successful career in selling health supplements that led him through to his retirement. Les was a man of great faith and active in Church ministry. He believed that it was important to share his faith in acts of service for others, which he did in Men’s fellowship groups, Cursillo, facilitating Alpha workshops, working with Street Connection and prison ministry. His caring presence made a difference in the lives of many. Les was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in early 2000. He faced this challenge with grace and dignity. While his body changed over time, his mind stayed strong and he provided those that he loved, his ever-present love and humor. Memorial service, officiated by Rev. Kyle Wagner, will be held January 10th at 11:00 am at Christ Church, 61 Dundas Street, Dartmouth, NS.
