JACK, Lillian Gertrude — 95 of Halifax, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage. Born in Spanish Ship Bay, Guysborough Co., she was the daughter of Frank Jack and Lydia (McKinley) Jack Gaskell and step-father Arnold Gaskill. She was a domestic housekeeper and caregiver for many years. She was later a domestic and personal assistant to Judge Sandra Oxner of Halifax for over 30 years, during which time a warm and lasting friendship grew. She was an excellent cook and catered many large gatherings through the years and has always been commended on her resourcefulness. As a devote animal lover, she was dedicated to the many pets she had over time. We all knew her as a compassionate, caring and giving person. Her natural sense of humour will live on in the little stories and memories of her we will carry with us. She is survived by sons, Franklyn (Gail) Jack, Liverpool; Steven (Barbara) Jack, Enfield; 5 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Krystal Myrna Jack , and daughter-in-law, Wanda (Mrs. Frank Jack). Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ocean View Manor Society. Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Memorial service arrangements to be announced at a later date. Special thanks to the staff, residents and roommate of four years, Zoe Natan, for their kindness and support. Thanks to Michelle and Emma Ashford for their time spent and love shared with their "adopted" Nanny Jack. www.mattatallfuneralhome.com Rest easy our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and life friend. With your love, memory and guidance held close to our hearts, we'll take it from here.
