Passed peacefully on January 2, 2017 at home at the age of 73. Survived by children, Jan McSween (Sean) and Kyle Burley (Susannah Murphy); wife, Freda Paul; brother, Michael Burley (Barbara); many nieces and nephews; step-children, Mark McDonald (Michelin), Holly McDonald and Preston McDonald (Francine); grandchildren, Cole, Mojo, Joey, Ocean and Mason. Predeceased by his first wife Trudi Burley. Lloyd was a national level canoe/kayak coach who was a mentor to many elite athletes over 30 years of coaching. Later in life, he was an owner/operator of several for hire cabs and was a large presence in that community. Lloyd was much loved by all and will be greatly missed. He was embraced and loved by the Mi’kmaq community. Memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, January 7, from 1-3pm in St. Clement’s Parish Hall, 16 Gaston Rd.
