Loretta was born to the late Louis and Marie (Theriault) Comeau on March 5, 1928, Meteghan Centre. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Stephen Fletcher, his children Tyler, Jordan, Tawnya and Tamara; daughter Lesley Fitzsimmons (Peter), their children Shayla and Devon; plus her surviving brother Raymond (Patricia) Comeau and sister Doris Gaudet (predeceased by her young daughter Lynn Fletcher, brothers Felix and Ralph, and common-law spouse of 50+ years, Harley Theriault).
Loretta was a strong, independent, caring and sensitive person, always ready to laugh. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and was very devoted to her family. Her positive attitude and strength helped her overcome difficult obstacles in her young adult life. She worked various jobs working many years at Kmart as Cashier Supervisor. She was an avid homemaker and kept busy with knitting, sewing and quilting projects, enjoying her home, her garden, her family and her extended family to lead a full and happy life. She will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank Northwood Halifax, 4C, for the wonderful care provided to Mom over the last two years and especially to nurse Marian, and volunteers, Nicole and her Mom, for their loving kindness.
Mom did not want a fuss made over her, thus an informal memorial gathering of friends and relatives will be held at the home of her daughter, Lesley Fitzsimmons, on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:45 pm. Internment and a brief ceremony by Deacon Jack, for family, will follow at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
