

HORNE, Lorna Mae – It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother on November 5, 2024, at Oceanview Manor, Eastern Passage. Born February 7, 1934 and raised in Pleasant Harbour, N.S. Lorna was the daughter of Basil and Amy (Borgal) Boutilier. Lorna was well known for her kindness, compassion for animals, as well as her baking skills. She along with her husband Leighton sold her goods at Penhorn and Alderney Farmers Market for many years. Early on she worked at Moir’s Chocolate Factory on Lower Water St., Halifax. She raised her 5 boys while following her husband’s career throughout New Brunswick, returning home to N.S. in 1975 and settling in Eastern Passage. Lorna is survived by her brother Eugene Boutilier, Halifax; Geneva Hemeon, Windsor, N.S. and brother-in-law Harold Irving, Lr. Sackville, N.S., sister-in-law Bonnie Boutilier, Lr. Sackville, N.S. Predeceased by husband Leighton; Sisters Dentzell Eddy and Lorraine Irving; Brothers Blanchard, Cecil, Alvin and Emmerson. Survived by Sons: Brian (Darleen) East Lawrencetown; Bruce (Penny) Galahad, AB; Barry (Louise) Lake Echo; James (Paula) PEI; Gerald, BC. Grandchildren: Natalie, Jason, Katelyn, Laura, David, Sabrina, Jesse, Daesha, Matthew, Robin, Daemion and Lily Mae; Great-grandchildren: Casey, Allysa, Jacob, Lucas, Hailey, Violet, Beau, John, Faith and Vada. The family would like to thank the staff at Ocean View Manor for their support and care for Lorna in her final years. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be held November 23, 2024, at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. Dartmouth at 2:00 pm. Internment at later date.
