

LAWTON, Manley James “Jim” CD – 81 of Dartmouth, passed away suddenly in the Dartmouth General Hospital on November 13, 2016. He was the son of the late William and Ruth (Walker) Lawton. Jim served in the Canadian Navy for 25 years at Shearwater, after retiring he ran a charter boat out of Eastern Passage. He enjoyed golf, curling, lawn bowling, singing in the church choir, bell ringing and wood working. He is survived by his devoted companion Juanita “Marie” Eisan, of Dartmouth; brother Ralph, of Mississauga, ON; sister Helen Lawton, of Windsor, ON; nine nephews and three nieces. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years Silvia Walsh and sister, Dorothy Nightingale. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016 with a legion service at 6:15pm both in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 18, in St. James United Church with Rev. Fred Snyder officiating. Burial will take place in Arcadia Cemetery in Yarmouth at 1pm Saturday November 19, 2016. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James United Church.
