Nelson Edward Sweet

Sweet, Nelson Edward-1941-2011. Passed away May 24, 2011 at home. Nelson was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth, where he completed his college diplomas (NSCC), established a career with Ultramar Refinery and raised his family. He resided there until his passing.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendy McDonald (Dartmouth); his son, Matthew Sweet, wife Nicola and their daughters, Rachel and Jillian (Edmonton); his daughter, Pamela Estabrook (Sweet) and husband Dan Estabrook (Dartmouth); his sister Annetta Caroline (Sweet); brother James Berton Sweet; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Nelson will also be dearly missed by his stepchildren, Kim McDonald, husband Jeff Stobo and their children, Joshua, Goran and Broaglan (Cole Harbour); and Carrie McDonald, husband Nick Humphrey and their children, Kayleigh, Sophia and Mason (Lake Charlotte). He was pre-deceased by his mother, Lottie (Behie) Sweet (Goldenville, NS) and his father, Stubbard Sweet (Sheet Harbour, NS).

There will be visitation on Sunday, May 29th from 2-4pm and a funeral service on Monday, May 30th at 10 am at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth). Interment to follow the funeral at Church Point Cemetery, Sheet Harbour.

Nelson was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.
