To the Lushington family, 

We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Lushington's passing. We lived next door to him for fifteen years on Lyngby. He was a wonderful neighbour for all those years. And when we moved in 2009, our children minded leaving him most. He was always great fun and would surprise the kids with little treats. A favorite memory was Mr Lushington, one hot summer day getting in his swimming trunks and running through the sprinkler with them to get cooled down. He was a dear, dear man, and we will miss him. Our condolences to you and your families on the passing of your Dad. He was a wonderful person. The highlight of our summers was when he and Mary arrived at Gwennie's bungalow with the three of you and Casey. Pete made us laugh and also made the best bonfires. He was one in a million. Heaven will never be the same now that Pete has arrived.

On behalf of all of the New Hampshire Papps, please know that your Dad was not only our favorite uncle,  but one of the most beloved people that we have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  We feel so fortunate to have had  the chance to spend time with him over the years, and we all often say, "when  I grow up, I want to be Uncle Pete!"   His smile, very kind heart, great sense of humor, and zest for life will forever be remembered by us all.  

When I think about his impact on all of us, I am reminded of one of his favorite phrases.  So in the words of you, Uncle Pete, "good show" on a life well lived.

I remember Peter as a very great man. I worked at CGE in Saint John and upon he return from the war her dropped into our office to see his brother Henry. He looked wonderful in his RCAF uniform!.
I saw Peter many times over the ensuing years of my many years with CGE. 
He had a wonderful sense of humour and it was,indeed, a pleasure to know him.  My thoughts are will his family.

I will always remember Peter as a great mentor to me as I started my time with Canadian General Electric. I will never forget his sense of humor, his laugh and his positive outlook.

Uncle Pete has always been a favorite Uncle of ours, and he and Aunt Mary will always hold a special place in our thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Pete's sense of humor and infectious laugh always made for great times and happy memories. He was someone we looked forward to spending time with ever since I can remember, and it is especially pleasing to me that my own family got to know Uncle Pete in the same way. 

I've grown to admire and appreciate Uncle Pete more and more over the years for his interest and commitment to family, his abiding faith, and his irrepressible optimism. 

We will certainly miss our visits with Uncle Pete back in Nova Scotia and the delight he took in seeing us all. He had a knack for making each of us feel welcome and uniquely special. Our family feels a big sense of loss and would like to express our deepest sympathies.

learn of Peter's passing.  I had a lovely
visit with him early December, and he was
his usual pleasant self.  Peter/Mary were our neighbours for 7 years and we never forgot them.  He shared our joy
on our daughter Amy's wedding day in
June 2009. We have many fond memories
of both Peter and Mary.

Your Dad was the best 'Uncle Pete'.....we were so blessed to have him our lives. He inspired us always with his positive attitude, words of encouragement and dedication to his faith,family and country. He was our hero and role model.We are fortunate to have so many wonderful memories of him from our road trips to New Hampshire, cribbage games,bowling ( and he out scored us all with strikes and spares!!!!)  boat rides, Bon fires and stories. He was a great singer an we will never forget his rendition of 'A Wee Dock n Dora".  He made us happy whenever we were with him. He connected with people everywhere he went with his outgoing  and friendly personality. There was never  an event or basketball game at a school gym or the Metro Ctre. that we left without the fans sitting around us  would say 'good bye Uncle Pete , it was a pleasure meeting you. ' We will miss him dearly in our lives but we are thankful that he has left us with so many wonderful memories."Yabadabadoo"!!!!! Love you always 'Uncle Pete'.   xo

It is with great sadness that we read of Peter's death. Although we haven't seen him for a few years we think of him often and remember the many wonderful times in Dartmouth and Cape Breton with Pete's jokes and stories, Mary's wonderful cooking and the Lushington and Gillis extended families. It was a pleasure to have worked at Canadian General Electric where at the time we were blessed with three of the Lushington men,Peter,Henry and Don.Peter sure was always pleasant and wonderful to be around.

Was saddened to read of your loss.  I worked at GE for more than 20 years
and Peter was part of that GE family that we valued and never forgot him
and the great person he was.
He was blessed with a great family and many friends who will share the
memories of one dear to them.
