Tom worked at Dartmouth Marine Slips for some time before joining the Bedford Institute of Oceanography where he sailed around the world. After his time there he returned home where he met the love of his life Gloria, truly a match made in heaven. In his later life he was a gas attendant at several service stations before retiring. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, spending his time with Gloria and watching his favourite game shows.
Tom is survived by his wife Gloria (Bonnell); stepdaughter June MacGillivray; Brothers, Chuck (Valerie), Rick (Terri), Mike (Carol), Kendall, David, and Herb; Sisters, Melanie (Ritchie) Bellefontaine, Sandy, Judy (Monty) Wolfe and Faye Green. Predeceased by sisters Barb Rayner (in infancy), Lori Rayner, and Cathy (Dale) Beaver; brother Jerry; Sister-in-laws, Carol (Herb), Janet (David), Jane (Kendall); and Brother-in-law Roy (Faye).
He will be remembered as a kind soul who never asked of anyone or anything.
A celebration of Life gathering will be held on Friday July 11 from 2-4pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth.
Special thanks to the staff of Ivy Meadows Long Term Care Facility who treated Tommy with love and kindness during his stay there.
