

MYRER, Reid Alexander-81, Dartmouth. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a dear father, grandfather, cousin, and uncle on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Glasgow Hall, Parkland at the Lakes. Born in Dartmouth, Reid was the son of the late George and Pearl (Conrad) Myrer. He is survived by son, George of Dartmouth, his wife, Heather and their children Will and Carly; daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) of Dartmouth, her husband, Joseph Nash and their children Victoria and Olivia; son, Stephen of Dartmouth, his wife, Janet and their children Ryan and Ben; and son, Reid of Stittsville, Ont., his wife, Sarah and their son Rhys; brother-in-law, Captain John (Jack) Matthews of Halifax; brother-in-law, Ernest Fraser Robinson and his wife, Jeanne of Ancaster, Ont; his cousin, Ronald Hollett of Dartmouth; and many loved nephews and nieces. Reid was predeceased by his wife, Lesley (Robinson) Myrer, brothers, Ross and Lloyd Myrer, and his sister Dorothy Matthews. Reid was a very outgoing and social person who made friends easily. He was a caring family man and he took great pride and interest in his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held, 11am Wednesday May 29 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth, with a reception to follow. A family interment service will take place in Mount Hermon Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge the great care provided to Reid by the staff of Unit B Oakwood Terrace and Lawrencetown unit, Glasgow Hall, Parkland at the Lakes. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Reid Myrer be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Nova Scotia, Feed Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
