Robert Clyde DeBaie

74, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary. Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Peter Weldon and Mabel B. DeBaie (Cox). Predeceased by his wife, Ruth Margaret DeBaie and grandson, Jonathon Robert DeBaie. Survived by brother, Jerry; sister, Joan (Mrs. Donald Horne); son, Gary; grandson, Cory; partner, Gloria Cody. Bob was a paratrooper in the military for 20 years and was Master in Charge of CFB Gagetown. After retirement, he drove for Nova Charters/Acadia Lines. He was a lifetime member and Executive Officer of the Somme Legion Branch 31. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker. Bob will be sadly missed by his many friends, especially the friends he had lunch with everyday and his lifelong friend, Billy Thorpe. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 28 from 6-9pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 29th at 1pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Memorial Donations may be made to the Somme Legion Branch 31.
