

He was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy and is survived by his two daughters Heather (Bernard) Martin and Brenda Everett of Toronto. He is also predeceased by his brother Thomas and sister Helen Colpitts.
He joined the Royal Bank of Canada in 1950 and his 41 year career included a number of roles in the Atlantic Provinces and Montreal. He was Regional Manager in Newfoundland and Labrador from 1976-1987 and retired from the Bank in 1991 in Dartmouth NS where he was the Manager and Area Manager for a number of branches.
Over the years wherever Red located, he was active in community activities and service clubs. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the Brightwood Golf and Country Club, Dartmouth and Bally Haly Golf and Curling Club (Past President), St John’s. He was an honorary member of the Austenville Owls Club in Dartmouth which he enjoyed many a great event with friends.
Red and Dot enjoyed their treks each year to Florida with their golfing buddies which resulted in many great memories. He made great friends wherever he went, too many to mention but please know that you all made a significant impact on his life. Thank you.
His wife Dorothy passed away in 2017 and in 2021 he relocated back to St. John’s NL and moved into Tiffany Village Retirement Residence. He enjoyed his home here and it was due in large to the staff and management of Tiffany Village. We as a family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, the personal care teams and staff. Thank you for the kindness and your unwavering support.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10:30am at Christ Church, 50 Wentworth St, Dartmouth . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
