

POWER, The Rev. Canon Robert Lloyd, August 2, 1950-March 24, 2011, Dartmouth. It is with the deepest sadness and many special memories that the family of Robert Lloyd Power announce his death at age 60. Robert was ordained Deacon in 1974 and Priest in 1975 of the Anglican Church of Canada. He served in the parishes of Petite Riviere-New Dublin, NS; Summerside-St.Eleanor`s, PEI and All Saints, Bedford, before retiring in 2009. He served on many Diocesan committees and studied in many countries during his ministry, including the United Kingdom, Jerusalem, Italy, and the United States of America. Robert proudly served as one of the Chaplains of the Halifax Regional Police Service for over 16 years. Robert is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Theresa (Benedict) and beloved daughter, Anne Louise (Ted Lake); his parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Power; brother, Christopher (Leeann); mother-in-law, Marjorie Benedict; brother and sisters-in-law, Lisa Power, Mary (Marc) Godfrey, Cynthia Benedict, nieces, Melissa, Brena and Kaila, special goddaughter, Breanne; and nephews, Nicholas and Cooper. His was predeceased by his wonderful son, Andrew; his brother, Randall (Randy); maternal and paternal grandparents; and his father-in-law, Edward Benedict. He was devoted to his family and to his church and police family. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Martello Street (formerly Tower Road), Halifax. Funeral service to be held on April 2, 2011, at 2 pm, with the Right Reverend Susan Moxley, officiating. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Helping Hands Food Bank at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Dartmouth. Family flowers only. We will hold you in our hearts forever!
