Ronald Glen MacDonald, born on February 18th, 1963, in Ottawa, Ontario, bid farewell to this world on April 20th, 2024. He was the beloved son of Patricia Ann Lelonde and Archibald Ronald MacDonald. Glen was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Corinne Anne MacDonald (Jones), in 2022. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter cherished by his family and friends.
Glen's journey began in Ottawa alongside his brother John Wade MacDonald and sisters Cathy MacDonald and Ann Hughes (David). He found profound joy in fatherhood, survived by his daughter, Kelsey MacDonald (Rory), and son, Cameron MacDonald (Katie).
An alumnus of A.Y. Jackson Secondary School, Glen ventured into the world with a spirit of adventure. He served his country as a Leading Seaman and Electrical Technician in the Naval Branch of the Canadian Forces, achieving submarine qualification and serving aboard the Okanagan.
Following his military service, Glen embarked on a diverse career path. From his tenure at the Halifax Shipyard to various construction roles, he eventually found his niche at Dalhousie University's maintenance department, dedicating himself until his retirement in 2021.
Glen’s true passion lay in the camaraderie of the Three Sheets pub, where he served as owner and proprietor, etching his name into the hearts of patrons and friends alike. He shared countless adventures with his beloved Corinne, exploring over 40 countries and creating treasured memories.
A man of wit and humor, Glen’s infectious laughter lit up every room he entered. He generously shared his time, skills, and knowledge, ever ready to lend a hand or a joke to those in need.
Glen's thirst for knowledge was insatiable, reflected in his eclectic hobbies, from knot tying to distilling alcohol. He delighted in brewing custom beers, bringing joy to all who tasted his creations.
As the life of the party, Glen’s presence behind the bar at Three Sheets was legendary. From St. Patrick's Day to birthday celebrations, he ensured every gathering was unforgettable, crafting custom cocktails and spreading joy.
Glen’s adventurous spirit extended to his love of driving, gaming, and pranks, always seeking new thrills and laughter. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
