

Wentzell, Stephen Robert, age 49, of Halifax, passed away August 1, 2016, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Irene Beeler (Wentzell) nee Rushton and the Late Ernest Wentzell and step-father Philip Beeler.
Stephen in his younger years enjoyed competitive swimming and Boy Scouts, running and travelling. He loved music, walking, gardening and cooking. He was well read and was up to date on current affairs and enjoyed many spirited discussions.
He is survived by his sons, Evan and Mark of Halifax; sister, Maureen Wentzell (Tamir Wainer) Dartmouth; partner, Michelle Steeves-Wall, Michelle’s son, Chase Wall; step-sisters, Joy Grennan (Damon), Susan Leadbetter (Stephen); step-brother, Stephen Beeler (Helena) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Ernest; brother, Alan in infancy; grandparents, Nita Rushton and Isaac Rushton, Lorna and Angus Wentzell, uncles, Bob and Hughie Rushton; aunt, Pearl Rushton and cousin, Joey Rushton.
There will be a celebration of life service at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. Dartmouth, Mr. Bill Hale officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday in the Canard Burial Ground, Upper Canard, Kings County, NS.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Feed Nova Scotia or charity of your choice.
