

MCDONNELL, T. Vincent – 97, of Dartmouth passed away on the 13th of November 2021 at Lewis Hall, Parklands at the Lakes. He was born in Cork Ireland on 11th of March 1924. Vince is survived by his daughter Joan Stibbard, son Barry (Mary Catharine) McDonnell and daughters- in- law Sandy McDonnell and Pat McDonnell, grandchildren Michelle (Cam) Beaupre, Cindy (Glen) Bossence, Derek Stibbard, Karen Ferguson, Ian McDonnell and Erin McDonnell and twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Eileen, his parents Frank and Winifred, brother Frank, sister Sylvia, sons Robert and Thomas and son -in- law Gerry Stibbard. Vince grew up in Ireland and he was a proud veteran of the Second World War. He served as a radio officer in the British Merchant Marine. Vince, Eileen and their children moved to Canada from Cork, Ireland in 1957. He retired from the Federal Business Development Bank in 1984. Vince had an active lifestyle over the years and was an avid golfer, curler, sailor and lawn bowler. He had a passion for wine, writing numerous articles for wine magazines and teaching wine appreciation classes. The family would like to thank the staff at Lewis Hall for their exceptional care of Vince. A special thanks goes to Stacy, Gillian and Jordan. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, proof of vaccination/ID and masks are required. A Funeral Mass, will be held at 11 AM on Friday 10th December 2021 at St. Peter's Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 10 Maple Street Dartmouth, Father Brian MacMillan presiding. Due to Covid, no reception will be held. Internment at Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Sackville, will take place following the Mass.
