Theresa Satterley

Theresa was born in Donkin, Cape Breton; she moved to Halifax as a young woman. Theresa met her husband of 65 years shortly thereafter; they were married in November 1957 and, over the next few years, welcomed two sons. The family lived many years in Shannon Park where they had many great friends. The family looks back on Shannon Park with fond memories, and stories shared always bring smiles and laughter.

Theresa was taken from us much too soon after a brief illness; she fought a great fight, but the battle was much too hard. Theresa loved life and her family. She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, Brian, Halifax, and Blair (Heather), Cooks Brook; six grandchildren, Brianna Reidt (Adam), Brampton; Miranda Satterley (Josh), Bridgewater; Shawn Satterley (Margaret), Ottawa; Kristopher Satterley (Mackenzie), Kennetcook; Tanya Snair (James), Queensland; Natasha Snow (Larry), Upper Sackville; ten great-grandchildren, Addyson and Aria Reidt; Ryder and Kashlyn Satterley; Tyler (Brooke) and Ella Snair; Reily and Jordin Wall; Dawson and Kierann Cook; two nephews, John O'Brien (Nancy) and Larry O'Brien (Carrie), niece Shirley O'Brien, and sister-in-law Peggy MacDougall (Ed)

Theresa was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Morris, sister, Madeline O'Brien, and daughter-in-law, Wendy Satterley.

We know we can't have you, but we're happy knowing the angels have finally gotten you back. We won't say goodbye, just see you later. You were a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and aunt.

Thank you to the wonderful doctors and staff on 8.2 Halifax Infirmary for their care and compassion for Theresa and her family. A special thank you to the nursing and security staff from puppy, Charlie.

Viewing on Monday, January 9, 10am – 12pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home (217 Portland St., Dartmouth), followed by a service in the chapel at 12pm., Father Vargheese officiating. Interment following the service in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 33 Old Sackville Rd., Lower Sackville.
