
Theresa was born on January 18, 1943 in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, and grew up in Sydney Mines. After graduating from Teacher’s College, Tess began her remarkable teaching career in Halifax. Those who knew her, and worked with her were familiar with Tess’s passion as a teacher, and she will be lovingly remembered by the many students whose lives she changed forever.
Tess was predeceased by her husband, David, and parents, Louis and Mary MacDonald. She is survived by her loving sister, Mary Lou White, brother-in-law, Barry White, sister-in-law, Betty (James) Mumford, nephews Chris (Crystal) and Jamie (Marzena) White, and nieces Natalie (Alex) Stevenson and Jennifer (Clinton) MacPhee, as well many great nieces and nephews.
The family is appreciative of the caring support provided by the staff at The Berkeley, Dartmouth, and wish to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists at the Dartmouth General, and Abby J. Lane hospitals, for their exemplary care of Tess during her recent hospitalization.
Memorial donations may be made in Theresa’s name to the Dartmouth General Hospital, or to a charity of your choice.
Following a private visitation by immediate family, cremation has taken place under the direction of A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home in Dartmouth.
Theresa will be re-united with her husband David, when her remains are interned next Spring in Windsor, N.S.
