

RILEY, Thomas Russell “Tommy” – 64, of Lake Loon. It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Thomas on Saturday, February 5, surrounded by his loving family in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QE II. Born in Lake Loon, he was the son of the late James and Ruth (States) Riley. Thomas worked for his father for many years. He was a jack of all trades – truck driver, landscaper, heavy machine operator, and a woodsman. Tom loved crossword puzzles, playing cards and pool. Above all else, he treasured his loving family, particularly his wife Frances, his children and grandchildren. He put them first in every consideration. Thomas was a generous, loving man. Thomas is survived by his wife Frances Sparks-Riley, sons, Dominic, Ricardo, Ashley all of Dartmouth; sisters, Elizabeth (Gilford) Drummond, Lena (Brian) O’Malley, Regina (Henry) Bishop, Cynthia Riley of Montreal and Brenda Riley of Lake Loon; brothers, William “Billy” Riley, Victor Riley of Dartmouth, David Wyse, of Vancouver; special brother, Nolan Sparks; aunts, Ruby Bundy and Mona Sparks; uncles, Alonzo (Rosita) States and Byron States; Godmother, Julia Sparks. Thomas was predeceased by sister, Sylvia Riley; nephews, John Drummond and Daniel Riley; Godfather, Clarence Riley. Thomas had many nieces and nephews that he adored. Close friends, Wesley Beals, Morgan Cain, Rossy Crawley, Joseph Ryan, Art Doherty, David Sparks, Marlon Sparks, Fulton Grant, Tony Grosse, Arnold Sparks, Tony Sparks and Parker Sparks. Donations in memory of Thomas may be made to the family. A private family service will be held by invitation only, cremation to follow. Proof of full vaccination, along with government issued ID, are mandatory to attend indoor funeral services for those age 12 and older. Masks are required.
