It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of William “Bill” Sanderson, 67 of Mineville, NS.
Bill was trained as a Red Seal Carpenter at the Dartmouth Vocational School. He worked in that field for many years doing house construction, maintenance at the VG Hospital and renovation work.
Bill married Lori Osborne in 2004. They had a loving, supportive partnership for 19 years that was filled with many adventures and travels, accompanied by many laughs together along the way.
Bill had a wonderful sense of humor, always adding a joke and loved to lighten the mood. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Highlights include fishing salmon with the bears in Alaska, cod fishing in Newfoundland, and many fishing trips with his lifelong friend Everett. He loved a good card game even when he wasn’t keeping score. He enjoyed a good craft beer, especially a Tatabrew.
After retirement, Bill took up new skills. He loved to cook and was known for his barbequed ribs. He took up four wheeling and always took the road less travelled. Bill, Lori and their chocolate lab Kahlua enjoyed many hours overlooking the beaches and sunsets of Brule Point where they spent many weekends.
Bill will be remembered as a kind, caring person with a fun-loving spirit.
Bill is predeceased by his parents Don and Evangeline Sanderson and his father-in-law Ross Osborne.
Left to remember him are his wife Lori, children, Amy (Jonathon), Josh (Shaunna), Colin, Brittany (Hussain). Grandchildren Regan, Cooper, Cameron, and Chloe. Brothers, Mike (Karen) and John (Wendy). In laws, Mary Osborne, Heather (Wayne), David, Gillian (Andrew), nieces Stephanie, Laura, Paige, Mikailee and nephews Ryan and Matthew.
Visitation will be held at A.L. Mattatall funeral home in Dartmouth from 6-8pm Thursday March 16, 2023. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
