

Albert L. Walker, 94, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at UnityPoint-Trinity in Rock Island, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded. A family gathering will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com
Albert was born July 21, 1919 in Burlington, IA; the son of Milo and Catherine (Wagner) Walker. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theatre for six years. His responsibilities included driving generals to the front line and driving Anna Rosenberg, who personally requested him. He was also a sharp shooter. He was united in marriage to Irene Kemper Woods on June 21, 1980 in Blue Grass, IA.
He enjoyed woodworking; especially fine carpentry; having built his home in Blue Grass. In addition to farming on his land, he enjoyed mowing for others.
He worked for Allied Van Lines driving cross-country before retiring from the Schebler Company in 1981.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Irene; daughter Aileen Walker; step-daughter, Shirley (Dave) Shoepp, Middleton, WI; step-children: Lindy (Karen) Woods, Fredonia, IA; Bonnie (Dale) Buelt and Christine SyWassink, both of Muscatine; 10 step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren and a sister, Cathryn Miller, Burlington, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, adopted son, Jimmy Walker, step-daughter, Diane Criss; four brothers, one sister and his beloved dog, Sparky.
