Services will be Monday, November 28, 2022 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at the mortuary with a Masonic Service at 4 pm followed by an OES Service. His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to QC Greyhound Adoption, Camp Courageous, or to the Eastern Star ESTARL Fund.
Alvin was born in Davenport on December 27, 1944. He was the son of Alvin A. and Dora (Hoke) Elmore. He was united in marriage to Marie E. Prachar on June 19, 1965 in Davenport.
He obtained an apprenticeship as a Tool & Die maker at Reynolds Engineering and retired from Case IH in East Moline after over 30 years of service.
His memberships included; Brubaker Masonic Lodge #675, Davenport Chapter #178 Order of Eastern Star where he was a Worthy Patron and in 2015 served as a Grand Sentinel in the Beachcomber Grand Family, QC Antique Ford Club, Big Six Studebaker Club, the Antique Automobile Club of America, past member of Shriner’s and the Davenport Scottish Rite Consistory.
His hobbies included going to car shows with his Studebaker and Franklin, singing karaoke at care facilities, playing guitar, watching western movies, and going on cruises. Alvin enjoyed talking with people. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marie; daughter, Denise (Robert) Bubbers, Bettendorf, son, Bruce (Cher), Davenport, grandchildren: Sarah and Evan Bubbers and Ethan and Audrey Elmore; brother, David (Brenda), Davenport, sister, Iona Porter, Davenport, several nieces and nephews and his beloved rescued Greyhound, Monica.
In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Bubbers.
