Alvin Harry Pranschke

Alvin H. Pranschke, 92, of Davenport, passed away on January 20, 2024 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Per his wishes, he will be cremated. There will be no services at this time. Inurnment will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com.

Al was born on April 25, 1931 in Omaha, NE to Fred and Louis (Wesphalen) Pranschke. He was united in marriage to Joan Evans on August 25, 1962. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2023. Al worked for the Rock Island Railroad for many years. He went on to work for the Davenport School District delivering mail. He retired in December 1995. Al was an avid rock and mineral collector. He was a simple man with simple hobbies.

Survivors include his children, Connie Pranschke of St. Pete Beach, FL, Wesley (Jodi) Pranschke of Davenport and son-in-law Allen Bond of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Heather Bond, Paul (Kelly) Bond, Scott Smit and Joel Smit; great grandchildren, Hadley, Grayson and Kaylie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joanie, one daughter, Rose Bond, one brother, Fred and one sister, Ruth.
