Andrea was preceded in death by her father John Harley Stevens, and her brother Michael Jay Stevens.
Andrea was born in 1969 in Wabash Indiana to John H. and Ellen (Rosalie) Stevens. She graduated from Milford High School in 1987. She Graduated from Mercy College of Heath Science (Des Moines) with a degree in Nursing (1994), and from Marycrest University (Davenport) with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN (1998).
Andrea married Jeffery Bladel on October 12, 1996, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. Over 29 years of a loving marriage, they raised two wonderful children, Brennan and Kylie, to whom Andrea devoted her heart and soul. She was incredibly proud of them, supporting Brennan in swimming and Kylie in gymnastics and cheer. Andrea cherished family time, especially traveling together and creating lasting memories. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing her children grow into the successful adults they are today. She loved them “to the moon and back.” Andrea also adored her puppy, Indi, whom she lovingly pampered and enjoyed as a constant companion.
Andrea dedicated 32 years to MercyOne Genesis Hospital, beginning her career there in 1994 as a Registered Nurse. Her passion for service and patient care was evident every day, especially in the emergency room, where she thrived in trauma care. She served as a Trauma Nurse Coordinator and educator, and was deeply committed to her team and the mission of trauma services. Nursing wasn’t just a profession for Andrea, it was her calling.
Andrea was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was deeply devoted to her Bible study group at Coram Deo Bible Church. She found joy in her golf league, recently took up crochet, and loved working on puzzles. Andrea cherished her time boating and being at the lake, and was proudly still slalom skiing as of last year. Growing up, she was actively involved in 4-H.
Survivors include her husband Jeff; son Brennan Bladel of Arlington Texas; daughter Kylie Bladel of Wentzville Missouri; her mother Ellen Rosalie Stevens of Liberty Township Ohio; brother John (Karen) Stevens of Franklin Ohio; sister Natalie (Jeff) Albrinck of Cincinnati Ohio; sister Kristen Stevens of Roseville Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
