Anna May Thompson

Graveside services will be Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10:30 am at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 until 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Anna was born May 19, 1928 in Davenport. She was the daughter of Elmer and Helen (Fee) Daily. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1946 and worked at Oscar Mayer until her marriage to Norris P. Thompson in 1951. He died June 4, 1981. She stayed at home to raise her family until her husband passed. After his passing, Anna worked at the former Mercy Hospital in the SPD division. She loved playing bingo at the fairgrounds weekly and going to the casinos, especially in Las Vegas.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Eileen (Raymond) Meister, Davenport; grandchildren: Katherine (Jacob) Kelley and Sarah (Bill) Cann; great grandchildren, Ryan & Weston Cann and Anna “Dani” Kelley and siblings: Ethel Daily, Margaret Osborn, Carol (Tom) Pickett, Steven Daily, Jinx Allen and James Daily and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: daughter Amy Thompson and siblings, Richard and Harvey Daily and Lela Spratt.
