Paul Wolfe, 72, of Walker, MN formerly of Long Grove, IA passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home in Walker MN. Cremation has been done and a visitation will be held 4-8PM Wednesday (5/29) at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Davenport. Services will be 10:00AM Thursday at the Mortuary with burial of ashes to follow at the National Cemetery Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Scott County Sheriff’s DARE program. Paul was born April 9, 1941 in Colfax, Iowa to Frank and Audra (Inglis) Wolfe. He joined the military and spent six years in Germany where he met Trudi Sichler. She returned with Paul to Iowa and they were married on April 16, 1963 in Vinton, Iowa. They lived in Davenport where he worked for the Davenport police department, and then for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department until his retirement in 2000. He and Trudi spent summers on Ten Mile Lake in Walker, Minnesota until officially moving “north” in July of 2012. He was a member of the Hackensack American Legion Post #202 in Minnesota. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with his family. He and Trudi made many memories traveling together, taking motorcycle trips, and boating on the Mississippi. Paul will be remembered as a devoted Husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa “Opa.”
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Trudi, daughters, Melinda (Paul) Chaney,Tina (Bryan) Searle; grandchildren: Rachel, Julia, Stephanie, Andrew, Cody, Alicia (David); two great granddaughters Natalie, Olivia, and two more expected soon; brother Roy (Patti) Wolfe; nieces Debbie, Angie, Shelly; sister in law Ushie Salinger; niece Ingi; nephew Hannas; cousin’s wife Renate Zerngast; aunts Izetta Moore, Hazel Bechtel, and Edna Inglis.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Audra Wolfe, his dear friend and cousin Vincent Zerngast, brother in law Klaus Salinger, and mother in law Anna Sichler of the Black Forest, Germany.
