Arthur Douglas Knepp

Arthur Douglas Knepp, 63, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Davenport at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from4-8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Pause & Effect Program of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Doug was born December 29, 1950 in Washington, IA, the son of Richard Glenn and Delma Jean (Miller) Knepp. He served in the US Army from 1970 until 1973. He was united in marriage to Eva Irene Joiner Marxen on March 28, 1987 in Davenport. Doug had most recently been employed as a paint leader at the Rock Island Arsenal retiring in 2013. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #235, the Eagle Riders and the Patriot Guard Riders. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Eva; daughters: Heather (Chris) LaCrue, Colorado and Makayla Knepp, Milan, IL; sons: Mike Joiner, Davenport, Dale (Brandi) Marxen, Galesburg, IL and Chris Knepp, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren: Devin, Dillon, Madison, Dalton, Jaytin and Ryan; sister, Deb (Bruce) Ewing, Colorado; brothers: Steve (Connie) Knepp, Davenport; Warren (Bonnie) Knepp, Colorado and Kevin Knepp, Colorado and several nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
