Barbara J. Behm

Barbara J. Behm, 78, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Genesis West Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2012 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the mortuary. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com. Barbara was born on January 25, 1934 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Lincoln and Marguerite (McCauslin) Bearbower. She married James Behm on October 20, 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport. She was a very giving person and always there for others. She never waivered at responsibility and would take care of others when needed. She started modeling for Sharff’s at a young age and would travel to New York to pick out clothes. She loved to tap dance, was an avid bowler and was a former Elks Member where she loved to dance with James. She collected Oriental decorations and designs. Survivors include her son, Matthew (E.J. Carley) Behm, Davenport; sister, Jody Horan, San Antonio, TX and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Sandra Meier.
