

Barbara was born on February 9th, 1933 in Flint, MI to Wm Vanstone Sampson and Ina Frownfelter Sampson. She attended Beecher High School and later wed Delbert Glen Youmans on October 27th, 1951.
Barb was at first employed at Buick where she started her life-long career of office work. She later worked in the offices at the Tupperware Warehouse in Clio, then on to West Court Street Church of God where she served for 17 years. Calvert Park Church of God was her next stop for 6 years and upon “retirement”, she and her husband went to serve at the Charlevoix Family Camp as caretakers for 14 years. At 71 she retired for good.
Barb served as a piano player for most of the choirs with which she was associated, starting with the Glee Club at Beecher High School, and on to the Holbrook, Pine Run/Clio Community, Dupont Street/Westwood Churches of God in the Flint area, as well as Churches of God in Charlevoix, MI and Zephyrhills, FL, to include a lot of weddings.
Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Glen Youmans, Her sister Bernice and two brothers-in-law, Wm Berry and Ancil Wilhite. Others that preceded her are her son, Wm Glen Youmans; son’s in-law, Dale Sudhoff and Erich Riske; her grandsons Sgt. Joshua Vernon Youmans and Lorenzo Jackson; her parents, Wm and Ina Sampson, and her in-laws, Rexford Glen and Helen Youmans.
Those left behind to cherish Barb’s memory are her sister, Carol Wilhite; her children, Joyce (Ran) Loy of NM, Ric (Luann) Youmans, Lynnette Sudhoff of SC and Michelle Riske of IA. Many grandchildren including locals Steven Riske and Christina (Zac) Sandry and great grandchildren, Zeke, Leonidas, Dominic and Maverick Sandry.
Memorial Services will be held at the end of June in Michigan.
