Beatrice Kruse

Visitation will be Monday from 10 am until the service at noon, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Beatrice was born February 23, 1930 in Rock Island, IL; the daughter of Herman and Evelyn (Broksieck) Wiklund. She was united in marriage to Richard “Rich” Allen Kruse on September 23, 1949 in Rock Island; he preceded her in death on November 25, 1982.

She had worked for International Harvester and then retired from Sprague Meter, now Textron after many years of service. She later worked at Leath Furniture. She loved playing golf, cards; especially Euchre and attending her water exercise class at the YMCA. Music was a big part of her life and she loved watching her grandchildren learn their passion for music.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karen (Mike) Weiman, Davenport; grandson, Craig (Bethany) Weiman, Winchester, MA; granddaughter, Jennifer Weiman and her husband, Jordan Voth, Kansas City, KS; her loving companion of thirty years, Richard “Dick” Gillespie; sisters: Sandy (Rudy) Ohrn, Moline; Hazel (Roger) Warnock, Davenport and Mary Franck, Ill; brother-in-law, Vernon Swearingen, Aledo, IL and dear friend, Helen Kaucher, Davenport. In addition to her parents and husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Swearingen.
