Beatrice "Bea" Summers

Beatrice Summers (Bea), 93 of Bettendorf, IA, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com

Bea was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 9, 1928 to Jack and Betty Yankolowitz. She married Stan Summers on January 25, 1953. Following their marriage, Stan and Bea moved to the Quad Cities where Stan owned Fashion Shoe Store with two locations in Moline and Rock Island.

Bea was an avid mahjong player, as well as all board games, a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs, and was dedicated to Jewish culture.

She leaves behind her sons, Bruce (Chris) Summers and Jeff (Debbie) Summers; grandsons: Statton (Bonnie) Summers, Harrison Summers (Brittany Johnson), and Scott Summers; great-grandchildren: Wesley Summers and Mira Summers; her sister, Sybil Chernin and daughter-in-law, Connie Summers.

Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Summers; her son, Steve Summers; her brother, Sheldon Yankolowitz and her parents, Jack and Betty Yankolowitz.

The family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Jenny Kitsis, friend and caregiver, for her unwavering support and immeasurable kindness.
