Benjamin Jacob Prouty

Benjamin “Benny” Prouty, 69, of Moline passed away in the comfort of his home Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Monday June 25, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Benny was born November 14, 1948 in Rock Island, IL to Stephen A. and Ruth A. (Cewe) Prouty. Benny attended the Opportunity Center, Moline for many years. In his younger years he love bowling and riding his bike. He also loved to swing and pinwheels. Benny had a nickname for everyone and showed unconditional love to all. He had a wonderful memory, remembering every detail. Those left to honor his memory include his niece, Carla (Ray) Bowker, nephews, Bert Dunn, Stephen (Ardith) Dunn and Shaun (Dianne) Dunn, nine great nieces and nephews and thirteen great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Benny was preceded in death by his siblings Lois Dunn and Harold Prouty.
