

Bessie Jackson Milton Greer, 64, of Davenport passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Unity Point, Bettendorf. Visitation will be at 10AM, Saturday, December 12th, 2015 at House of Fire Ministries, 2365 11th Street, Rock Island, IL, with a memorial service at 11AM. She was born October 18, 1951 in Brinkley AR daughter of Roosevelt and Laura (Hinton) Jackson, a farmer’s daughter. Bessie was united in marriage to James Greer on October 18, 1986 in Rock Island, IL.
She worked for the United Hospital in Moline for many years on the orthopedic surgery floor. She also did homecare for Trinity Gentiva for many years caring for elderly in their home setting. Bessie loved caring for people’s family and friends last years of life. She worked at Wal-Mart and Big Lots as a stocker.
She loved spending time growing flowers and with family and listening or discussing the Bible. Bessie believed God brought her and her four kids through everything and enjoyed attending church with them. Later she joined the House of Fire Ministries in Rock Island. We are church of people not of wall, where Bible based instructions scripture mold our life.
She is survived by a daughter Sharon (James) Gambleton, Davenport; sons: Daron (Ria) Milton, Japan, Tyrone (Liz) Milton, Paul (Jennifer) Milton, Davenport; six grandchildren; sisters: Mattie Buckner, Chicago, Elizabeth Grider, Tampa, FL, Willie Stepps, CA, and Patricia Jackson, Tulsa, OK; brothers: Andrew Jackson, Sarsota, FL, Frank Jackson, Little Rock, AR, Marshall Jackson, Tulsa, OK, and Mack Jackson, Tampa, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Greer, parents, two sisters and a brother.
