Bettie Ann Getty

Bettie Ann (Meyer) Getty, 80, of Blue Grass passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2024 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House. Per her wishes she will be cremated. There will be no services at this time. Inurnment will take place at Davenport Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be left to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com.

Bettie was born April 28, 1944 in Fargo, ND to Russel and Julia (Kraml) Swansick. She was united in marriage to Clifford Getty on November 27, 1965. Bettie worked as a postal clerk for the U.S Postal Service in Blue Grass, retiring in 2003 after 20 plus years of employment.

Bettie enjoyed crafts including ceramic dolls and Christmas ornaments. She was a skilled trap shooter. She loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. She loved camping with her husband, Clifford. She will be remembered for her Chanel #5 perfume.

Survivors include her loving husband Clifford; sons, Todd (Nancy Muntner) Getty of Madison, WI. and Mark Getty of Kansas City, MO.; two grandchildren, Cameron and Marissa Getty; sister-in-law Sharon Getty of Bettendorf and Patsy Pragel (Denny) of Plymouth, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Jack Meyer and Paulene Rock.
