Betty Tolley Bradner, 96, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Iowa Masonic Health Facilities in Bettendorf. Betty was born on June 14, 1927, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Fred and Florence (Tolley) Cannon. She graduated as an RN from Women’s College Hospital in Toronto in 1949. She worked for hospitals in Powell River and Vancouver, British Columbia and Corvallis, Oregon. Betty lived her life with hope, warmth, optimism, and a great sense of humor. She loved her family and her cats. She delighted in attending her grandchildren’s soccer games and dance recitals and liked nothing better than a fresh passport to travel the world visiting family and friends. Always up for an adventure, there wasn’t much she wouldn’t try, at least once. Betty enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and Bird Club.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Bradner of Blenheim, Ontario, Christine (Larry) Smith of Anchorage, AK; and Pamela (James) Ohnemus of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Arik (Kesha) Bradner, Rachel (Scott) Ashby, Alec Smith, Stuart Smith, Philip Ohnemus (Ashley), Beth (Matt) Saar; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Diane.
Special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Iowa Masonic Health Facilities for their care and support over the years.
