Betty Jean Daley, 97, of Clive, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, IA, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Woodland Creek Senior Living. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, at Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport, IA. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, also at the Weerts Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park. Betty was born August 8, 1924, to Walter and Mildred (Saunders) Brown in Centerville, IA. She graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, IA. In 1942, Betty was united in marriage to Robert Daley in Kahoka, MO. She worked as a Sales Associate at Von Maur for 27 years until retirement. Betty was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, Mohassan Cauldron, several bridge clubs, Women’s Auxiliary for the Moose Lodge, and the Rock Island Arsenal Historical Society. In her free time, she was an avid bridge player and enjoyed many other card games as well. Betty and Robert were both talented dancers and often attended square dancing events. She also enjoyed traveling and was able to travel to Europe in the recent years.
Betty will be missed by her children, Rickard (Clover) Daley of Moline, IL, and Nicki Nelson of Johnston, IA; grandchildren: Drake (Julie) Daley and Tara (Matthew) Osborne; great grandchildren: Kassandra (Alfred) Martinez, Andrea Daley, Kaleb Osborne, Logan Osborne, Kyden Osborne, and Sophia Osborne; and a great great granddaughter, Elizabeth Martinez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and a sister, Lyssie Guyer.
