Betty J. French, 87, of Buffalo, IA passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 5:00 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery in Buffalo. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Betty was born September 28, 1925 in Oxford Mills, IA. She married Ivan ( Pete)French on March 7, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, IA, he preceded her in death. She was a hard-working woman who was very caring and made a lot of friends throughout her life. She was a loving mother who created a very strong bond with her children, who took care of her the way she took care of them. Those left to honor her memory include her loving children: Susan (Frank) Caes, Wyoming, IA; Gary (Chris) French; Larry French; Marcia French and Mary French, all of Davenport and Bill (Diane) French, Peoria, IL; seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Dennis, three granddaughters and a grandson.
