Betty Lou Gott, 94, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Unity Point Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2pm; visitation will be before the service starting at 12pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to CASI or Catfish Jazz.
Betty was born on March 16, 1930 in Iowa City, Iowa to Herbert and Florence Neff. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gott on October 18, 1947; he preceded her in death. Betty worked at John Deere Harvester in East Moline, Illinois; she retired on April 1, 1990. She was an active member of CASI for 32 years, the YM-YWCA, Catfish Jazz, Plus 60, and the Local 865. Betty loved to travel across the United States and abroad. Family was very important to Betty and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory are her children Marjorie Kuhrt, Deanna Gott, Jerry (Brenda) Gott, Jim Gott, and Michael (Kathy) Gott; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many beloved great-great-grandchildren; sister Rose Peters; and her brother Robert Neff.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; parents Herbert and Florence; and two sisters Barbara Warren and Hazel Broughton.
