

Bettendorf, IA Betty Mae Hogue, 81, peacefully died from cancer at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa, on Sunday, March 5, 2017. The love of her family surrounded her when she went home to be with the Lord. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest in a family plot at Rossiter Cemetery in Charlotte, Iowa. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.A Memorial Service to honor Betty will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 2 pm. Living Hope Community Church, 216 West Hayes Street, Davenport, Iowa, will host the Memorial Service.Betty was born on February 4, 1936 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Roxana Ward. In her younger years, she was very involved with music and sang solo, and with groups and choirs. After college, she worked as a teacher, a real estate salesperson, and, for twenty-five years, a singer and speaker for Hogue Drama Ministry. Betty enjoyed traveling around the Midwest with her husband and performing their ministry in churches, community centers, nursing homes and many other sites. She sang the many songs of the ministry, solo acapella, in both English and Hebrew. Betty’s greatest desire was to encourage people and win souls for the kingdom of God. Bible, family and friends were her greatest comfort. She delighted in spending time with family, and treasured watching her children and grandchildren grow up. Betty is survived by her husband, Tom; a brother, Francis, and his wife, Phyllis, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Nancy Garner, and her husband, Paul, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Nancy’s son, Gabriel Zeller, of Davenport, Iowa; a daughter, Jennifer Williams, of Clinton, Iowa; Jennifer’s children, Tyler, Jacob (who went to heaven in 2003), Jessica, Cheyenne, Carson and Grant; and a son, Joseph Miller, and his wife, Kim , who live in Slinger, Wisconsin with their sons, Cade and Nolan. Betty had many nieces and nephews and was also mother to three step children from a previous marriage, Becky Meggers of Bernard, Iowa; Kathryn, wife of Warren Clayton, of Savage, Minnesota; and Doug Miller, husband to Tricia, of Boise, Idaho. Betty also loved and had a profound impact on Tom’s children, Eric, Cara, Aaron and Jason; and grandchildren, Kiri, Nathan, Daniel, Sarah, Samantha, Joshua, Adrian, Ruby and Miya Remembrances and condolences may be made to the family at www.cunnick-collins.com.
