

Betty Lou Richardson, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. She was born on June 9, 1933, and lived a long and meaningful life defined by love, family, and an appreciation for life’s simple joys.
Services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory, 838 E. Kimberly Road Davenport, IA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with services to follow at 10:00am in the Runge Chapel. A luncheon will be hosted afterwards by the family at Vineyard Church, 2402 W. Kimberly Road.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virgil Richardson; her daughter, Laurie Frutiger; her grandson, Timothy Richardson; and two infant great-granddaughters, Robin and Sofia.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Ronald Richardson, Terry Richardson, Debbie Crafts, Thomas (Debbie) Richardson, Gary (Julie) Richardson, and Valerie (Brent) Garrow. She also leaves behind Kimber, whom she lovingly helped raise from a young child. Betty was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Very dear to her heart were her little dogs, who provided her with constant companionship and comfort.
Betty Lou was a devoted mother and the heart of her family. Family was the center of her life, and her love and dedication were unwavering. She found joy in drawing and coloring, pursuits that reflected her gentle and creative spirit. She especially loved taking drives along the Mississippi River, where she found peace and happiness in the scenery. Betty embraced life fully and appreciated each day for what it offered.
Though she never sought recognition, Betty’s influence was deeply felt in the lives she touched and the values she passed on. She will be remembered for her loving nature, her quiet creativity, and the deep bond she shared with her family. Her legacy lives on through the many generations who will remember her with love.
