Betty Jean Todd

Betty J. Todd, 94, of Durant, IA, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. A funeral service will take place 1 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home. Betty will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Betty was born on September 22, 1930, in Harpers Ferry, IA, to Helen (Chapin) and William Schultz. Throughout her life, Betty held a variety of jobs, always working hard to provide for her four children. She especially cherished her time as a preschool aide, where she had a lasting impact. Above all, Betty's greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She treasured these moments, and they became even more joyful when she triumphed in a board game against them. Betty had a talent for cooking, she prepared delicious meals from scratch with ease. She also expressed her creative spirit through sewing, embroidery, and crocheting. Known for her vibrant personality and infectious sense of humor, Betty never met a stranger and made everyone feel like family.

Survivors include her children; Ronald and Wife Marlyss, Sandra, Sharon, Richard; grandchildren, Angela, Jeff, Brandi, Heather, Heidi, Justin, and several great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Todd; sisters, JoAnn, Maxine, Beverly, Judy, and one beloved grandchild, Julie Anna.
