

.Betty Ann Vogel-Freeze, 81, of Davenport, passed away, after an extended illness, on Tuesday, November 04, 2014, in Davenport. Visitation will be Sunday, November 9, 2014, from 2-5 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Betty Ann was born February 7, 1933, in LeClaire, IA; the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy (Dittmer) Randolph. She was the eldest of eight children. She graduated from LeClaire High School. She married Virgil E. Vogel in 1950. Later, she was united in marriage to Art Freeze on September 27, 2009. She was a member of the Living Church of Jesus Christ in Eldridge. Betty worked at various area businesses including: International Harvester, Crescent (Cookie) Bakery and M.A. Ford. She owned and operated the M&O Café on Brady Street for several years where she fed many of the less fortunate. She also worked at the Quad City Times on and off for thirty years. She was devoted to her family and adored spending time with her grandchildren. She loved animals and nature, and enjoyed being outside, walking, fishing and gardening. Betty had a tremendously kind heart and never met a stranger, whether two-legged or four-legged. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Art; children: Ross Vogel, MO; Jerry Vogel, Bettendorf; David Vogel, WA; Jackie Callahan, Eldridge; step-children: Aggie Forrester, Princeton, IA; Christine (Jim) Burney, Karice Freeze and Douglas Freeze; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Rose (Bob) Gimm, LeClaire; Grace Moneymaker, Moline; Vera (Russ) Limerick, Colona, IL and Mary (Merle) Bowers, Princeton, IA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Lynn, her parents, brothers: Alvin and Michael and a sister, Dottie. May they rest in peace.
