Betty I. Waite, 83, of Davenport, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 28, 2014, with family members present. Per her wishes, following cremation, a small family memorial service will be held. The family requests no flowers or memorial contributions. Betty was born July 6, 1930 in Wilton Junction, IA, a daughter of Pete and Hazel Soteros. On July 23, 1966 she married Ed Waite in Davenport. She was employed by Oscar Mayer for thirty –seven years, retiring in 1991. She was then employed by West Kimberly HyVee.
Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, yard work, her pool, spending time with her grandchildren and always helping others.
Survivors include her husband, Ed; children: Charles McIntyre, Michael McIntyre and Cheryl Smith; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and siblings: Thelma, Pete, Karen and Larry. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother in infancy, Gerald, son, Wm. “Clifford” Chapman; sister, Mary; two daughters-in-law and a grandson.
