Betty Ann Werthmann

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday June 8, 2026, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Davenport. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by the rosary on Sunday June 7, 2026, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Betty was born February 17, 1938, in Rock Island, Illinois. Her parents were Samuel (Sante) Franceschina, born in Navaron, Italy; and Mary Rose Francesckina, born in Frisanco, Italy. Betty graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island and completed two years at Marycrest College in Davenport. She was united in marriage to Jerome Werthmann on November 7, 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2024.

Betty had worked as an educational aide at Buchanan School in the Davenport School system. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport, where she was active in Legion of Mary. Betty was also a devoted volunteer at Birthright, a proud member of the Q.C. Italian Club, and loved to work out at CASI.

Betty enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, watching old films and sitting down with a good book. She loved listening to Neil Diamond and ABBA. Betty was also very devoted to prayer, the Virgin Mary and her Catholic faith.

She is survived by her children, Kelly J. Gilliam (Scott), Kevin L. Werthmann (Sherri), Jennifer A. Satterly (Todd), Connie E. Werthmann and Janel M. Clark (Kory); grandchildren, Ashley, Paige, Austin, Koltin, and Maile; great grandchildren, Jade Rose, Hayes, Warren, Ada, Otto, Victor, Joseph, and Frances; and her beloved cat, Shilo.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandsons, Corey, Michael, and Jarin.
