Beverly Kay Paulsen

Beverly Kay Paulsen, 62, of Moline died July 15th, 2012 at Trinity West Hospital. A Private Memorial Service will be held Friday July 20th, 2012. A public visitation will be held Thursday July 19th, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Runge Mortuary in Davenport, IA. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery in Davenport, IA. Born in 1950, Bev grew up in Brownstown, Indiana. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 1984. She married Lloyd Paulsen in 1997 in Peoria, Illinois. During Bev’s career she served as instructor at Ivy Tech College, Ball State University, and St. Ambrose University. In addition, she held the position of Associate Dean of Nursing at Spoon River Community College. Bev enjoyed helping people as a Parish Nurse. She completed her 40 year nursing career working for Genesis Hospice. Her final career endeavor was owning Ocean Escapes Women’s Relaxation Center in downtown Le Claire, Iowa.

Bev was a member of many honorable organizations. A few of the most noteworthy include the Le Claire Chamber of Commerce, the Visiting Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and the National Education Association. She was a member of the First Free Evangelical Church.

Her hobbies included visiting the ocean, collecting antiques, gardening and lavender. Those left to honor her memory include: her husband Lloyd Paulsen, her brother Gregory Sewell (Jacquie Sewell), her daughters Gretchen Rossetti and Doressa Kupke ( Joshua Kupke), and her step-sons Eric and Brad Paulsen. The three grandchildren Bev cherished are Avianna, Aiden and Mylan Rossetti. She was preceded in death by her parents Doris and Keith Sewell and in-laws Arnold and Violetta Paulsen.
