

Bobbie “Bob” Leon Shadden, 71, of Davenport, passed away, Monday, November 14, 2011 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 18, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Bob was born on April 26, 1940 in Mendota, Missouri, the son of Lloyd and Marie (Sumpter) Shadden. He married Rosemary Cowan on March 4, 1961 in Rock Island. Bob was a United States Marine Corp. veteran where he was a machine gunner. He had been a diesel mechanic for over 30 years. Bob was a member of the NRA, Oakhill Gun Club, North American Hunting Club, and National Turkey Federation. He loved to go to shooting clubs with his family and friends and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting. He loved motorcycling and had just gotten a trike bike. Bob has a great sense of humor and everyone enjoyed being with him. He was a firm believer of Murphy’s Law. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Bob is survived by his wife Rosemary, Davenport; daughter Robin (Brian) Hibbs, Davenport; son Robert (Debbie) Shadden, Davenport; grandchildren Sonja Cadovius, Naples, Italy, Shelby McMurrin, Davenport, Alex McMurrin, Davenport, Sam Willson, Davenport, Brent Shadden, Washington, IA, Ryan Shadden, Davenport, and Jessi Shadden, East Moline; great grandchildren Zoe and Jocelyn Cadovius, Naples, Italy, Piper Lee McMurrin, Davenport, IA, Shawn Housby, Washington, IA, Lucy Elizabeth Shadden, Washington, IA, Caleb Shadden, Washington, IA, Myles White, Davenport, Kinnick Shadden, Davenport, and Maya Shadden, Davenport; sisters Betty McClain, Davenport, Delores Fryxell, Rock Island, Barbara Veach, Mendota, MO, and Pat Sury, Unionville, MO; twin brother Bill Shadden, Coal Valley, and Richard Shadden, East Moline; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his beloved companion Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Wanda Morris, Jean Pederson, Tom Shadden, Margel Guyton, and Judy Shadden.
